So sad to hear, someone who helped me through some tough times. Can't stress how much talking to him about what I went through, helped me to begin to truly recover.
Thoughts are with his family, a true gentleman who made a big difference to my life

First met Darren as his son Jarrett was one of my Scouts. Jarrett beat Leukaemia himself only a couple of years ago. He became a friend watching Basingstoke and like everyone else I’ll miss him greatly
I worked with Darren for a handful of years, he was a genuine nice guy and always looked on the positives, never the negatives! So sad to hear this news! R.I.P Buddy!!

My Brother Graham encouraged Darren to start watching Basingstoke in the mid 80's as they worked together and Graham told him that you could drink and watch football at the same time. Darren went through some diificult times in his life but always had a smile on his face as opposed to my constant scowl. All I can say is I consider it a privilege to has stood with him watching Basingstoke Town FC over the years. An extremely likeable chap with a warped taste in music from Country to Thrash metal and various genres inbetween. RIP Darren Condelences to Karen and Jarred

Darren’s wife Karen had put two fundraisers up on Facebook in his memory. One is for Pancreatic Cancer UK and the other is for St Michael’s Hospice. She is using Facebook’s giving platform.
