Well this time last year we were still playing football, well not quite, as this weekend was our 'The Day We Went To Cinderford' trip, which was called off due to a fog-bound Cinderford.
The club travelled the 90+ miles to the tiny village of Cinderford, and as the players coach neared the ground, it was clear a heavy fog had fallen over the ground. The referee initially delayed the kick-off till 3.15pm, then further announced a further pitch inspection at 3.30pm. Once this pitch inspection failed the referee and or linesman's requirements, the game was called off. The game already in the middle of nowhere, will now be rearranged more than likely for a Tuesday evening. A superb turnout by Stoke fans on the players coach and a few who drove to the game. Lastly can I thank Cinderford Town fans and officials who could not be more helpful to us who were clearly expecting the game to go ahead. Clean sheet for the Stoke, whilst relegation rivals Barnstaple Town took a beating at Slimbridge.
Despite all this I think most fans actually had a great day bonding with the players on the coach on the way home, and this has been a high point of the club over the past 18 months.

We got there just before 3pm, parked up and got to the turnstile, only to be told that the game was being delayed due to the fog. By the time we got something to eat, rumours were flying around that the linesman were unhappy with the conditions and the game was going to be postponed. Remember walking in the clubhouse and the Btg were in good spirits, despite the situation.
