Calling all Basingstoke Fans who want to support
SAVE THE CAMROSE
On SATURDAY JULY 24 at 10 am
at the Camrose football ground, we are organising a show of support in returning this historic ground and community asset, back to the people of Basingstoke.
We are asking and reminding the council to put their full support behind this .
What Mr R Razzak has done, and continues to do, is scandalous. He is presently throwing more money at his appeal to build houses on this land which was leased to the town’s football team, for a peppercorn rent.
The council already own 29% and should put a compulsory order to buy the rest. They recently loaned Serco £5m , interest free, and are one of the wealthiest councils in England. A quote was “well we are not earning any money leaving it in the bank, with interest rates so low”.
This football ground was the showcase for hundreds of local cup finals and other matches over many years, until Mr Razzak took over control. Immediately stopping the requirement of auditing accounts and annual shareholder meetings. So all dealings from that day were secretive! Duping the community with a “golden share”, and such comments like “we are re-seeding the pitch”.
Your support for Save The Camrose on this day is to show the council that Basingstoke people want the “baddie” out will be invaluable, so please, can as many of you as possible be there just before 10 am. Bring your families, friends, next door neighbours. Bring, flags, banners, scarfs that you may have and wear your Basingstoke colours.
The Gazette will be contacted and hopefully they will attend to record the event as they did previously
