Very pleased that Jason is to continue. He is still young and will improve.
With the usual smoke and mirrors regarding the ground would it not pay the club to stay at the Camrose and start improving the ground ?. They have it from Camrose Estates for next to nothing in rent. At least the club could plan accordingly with some certainty.
I would say that is sensible. I have said before on this forum that I don't believe Jason is doing a very good job. Unlike ks I do not agree that he will obviously improve, in fact this season seems to suggest the opposite. I would of course love to be proved wrong
Why Rafi would offer a new contract when he is not happy with the results is mind-boggling to me.
Do the board have to approve this new contract or is it just Rafi's decision?
I'd have to personally say my decision to offer him a contract or not would be on the basis of winning the Hampshire Senior Cup and if we fail to win that then in my books its time to let him go
I have personally been very disappointed with the past 2 seasons with Jason Bristow in charge
KS, the 3 yr plan you listed is for progress. That is my issue, I don't see any.
Gooner, winning the Hants Cup, although would be a nice thing, shouldn't IMO be a reason to give a BTFC manager a new contract.
2 bad seasons in a row have led me to be pondering his position as manager winning the Hampshire Senior Cup final would be a ''ok'' season but losing it would be a ''poor'' one and again if we did I'd like to see a change as ill only have the feeling of having the exact same season next season so to speak
I would of personally said and i'm sure a few others would agree that mid way through the Skrill South season we looked like a side that could push for playoffs but the last 15 games things basically went from ''looking like a playoff side'' to ''looking like a side battling for survival'' and yes in my books it was that bad so bad for me I did not end up going to the last few home games of the season purely because of cost and performance
I just feel that Jason has failed to do his job well enough over the past 2 seasons
Sadly Gooner we live in a culture of win or lose, success or failure lets blame the manager.
Yes Jason IMO made a few wrong signings this season and of course money is tight for everyone but with what few fans we've got we need to stick with the cause. I for one feel that at long last we have a manager who feels the pain as much as we do, so although next season is going to be another one for me going to the same old places at least i'll know it's under a manager who'll give 110% towards getting us where we belong
I am happy for Jason to be given another year. Jason has proved hs commitment to the club. Sure, mistakes happen and the performances have not been great this season but could the club afford anyone better?
I also don't believe that the club is any where near ready to get promotion. If it did, IMO it would crash and burn.
I hope (but don't expect) that the club takes a real close look at itself and gets a positive action plan together to take the club forward.
This is the point, by the terms of his current contract Jason has another year already. Rafi is talking about a new contract despite not being pleased by results this season.
I do not doubt Jason's commitment or how much he feels every defeat. I do, unfortunately, doubt his ability to produce consistent performances from the players.
No manager would ever make this club a success on the field whilst his ability to get the players he needs is frustrated by the budget. Whilst a good manager should be able to get his players to perform at their full capability, normal human behavior frailties will ensure they do not perform at their best in every game. So whether Jason is a manager who could make this club a top performer on the field is difficult to assess. His commitment and dedication to the club will never be bettered, but his ability to provide a regularly winning team is no better, but no worse, than any other manager operating under the same conditions. I therefore say Rafi is correct to offer Jason another contract whilst hopefully he, Rafi, gets the off-field business into a better position. I think it may be moving that way, but still needs changes to the clubs relationship with its supporters.
