Well done John for sticking the head above the wall.
Sad to say, I think I am in full agreement with your choices to stay and leave. Smart and Macca deserve to stay for their 100% commitment and effort when on the field. Wes........say no more!
Very good summary John, and i think most fans will say the same.
The most important thing for me is finding a new captain, someone in the mould of Bayso or Lake a voice on the pitch something we've missed all season . IMO this will have to be one of the new players Jason brings in preseaon as i don't think we have anyone in the current squad capable of filling this role
Your player assessment spot on JB and fully agree with Mickys post.Having spoken with a relative of Rory Williams at Gosport when we lost 2-0, in that makeshift strip (!), the lad wouldn't move to another club unless it was full time as he was doing well in a full time job locally.Anyway why would he want to come to a club lower down the ladder?I've been impressed with the midfielder Donnelly who was at Aldershot a while ago and played against us twice this past season for H&W. Not sure about the trawl set up for players to trial for the 1st team, what's happened to our scouting system?

There are lots of reasons why trials are held Jim.
This trial is to offer an opportunity to both local players and players that have been scouted recently. In addition the club has been working with the release programmes of several Professional clubs for younger players who will also attend. The club has updated its scouting network and scouts attend many games throughout a week in the season to identify potential players who could play at our level. The first team management also attend a wide range of matches in leagues higher and lower to the Conference South and will continue to do so next season.
