Well done on the win tonight to Jason & the team. We never do things the easy way. A brilliant night. Jenks & Joe were excellent & Liam's finishing was clinical.
Massive congratulations to the whole team . 1-0 at half time flattered havant , could easily had been 3-0 . Again we had to suffer another referee display , I mean , a player laying "injured" for havant , play commenced for a short time , then probably rightly stopped . The player had treatment , went off and somehow havant had a free kick where he was laying , what ? Hope an assessor saw that one , the ref was poor . I thought bradbury took defeat well and honourably , didn't see him charging on to the pitch and confronting the officials , did I ?. But a great night , super result and a very decent pie . Shame to see a steward celebrate the equalizing goal though, impartial ? and where did the goal celebration music come from ? Apparently Basingstoke declined to have the music for our first 2 goals but it turned up for the winner , late to the party eh . It was about time we beat the nawks this season , well done . ( and we want mention no no nanetti diving at all ).
Well done to the end of a tough season. A trophy against Havant & Waterlooville, the hard way. It really kept me on my seat photographing the match. Well done to the fans, for being the 12th man. A great atmosphere pitch side. I have put around 130 to 140 pictures on my website, and the club hopefully put some on soon. The link below is for the pictures of the Hampshire Senior Cup Matches.
Have to add my congratulations to the team. Very well done on your win, its not easy when you have been 2 up and find yourself pegged back to 2 each in the last minute. Great way to end the season and gives the Town something to shout about.
RIP CAMROSE - SADLY AND UNCEREMONIOUSLY TAKEN AWAY FROM THE PEOPLE OF BASINGSTOKE . NEVER TO BE FORGOTTEN
Prejudice is a great TIME SAVER. You can form opinions without having to get to the FACTS.
To keep the HSC winning effect going why not have a little soiree in the clubhouse this coming Friday evening when supporters can mingle with Jason and the players with the cup on display.Put on a couple of barrels of reduced price beer and some nibbles and the evening should finish in time for the FA Cup Final the next day!
WOW, What a night! Well done Jason, Michael and the team, we were far the best side and deserved the win. A great advert for non league football with the standard of play and the drama made it an unforgettable final. Unfortunately Shaun Gale's baiting celebration (when they equalised) towards the BTFC fan's and Lee Bradbury's charging towards the referee at the end of the game showed the lack of class and respect they have and they have let their club down with their actions. But a great night and well deserved.
You know when the support is good when you get a quote like this on the Havant forum:
"Basingstoke fans, were they hired for the night or something as never heard them make any noise when at there ground at all, plus they seemed to think our home ground was Fratton Park :?
One of them seemed to think he was leading the Zagreb fans with him facing the fans all game trying to get them to bang there drum and blow horns, also most of there songs were wordless and just nernerner, hence why i think they were hired."
Thought the Havant fans would've been more up for it than they were. Great performance all round, there was some real shifts put in and some top performances. As Jason said in his interview, it wouldn't have been Basingstoke if we didn't make it hard for ourselves but the success is sweet.
Looks like we hired the right people for the job then! Great atmosphere (in half the stand anyway) and rewarded by a fantastic performance. A brilliant night for Basingstoke Town FC
Fantastic game and a thoroughly enjoyable evening, but lads, please can you not make it so stressful for the supporters as its not good for our blood pressure!
Joking aside, I'm delighted for Jason as its been a tough season and it was nice to end it with a trophy.
