Basingstoke Town Football Club were delighted to receive the FA Respect Club award for the season for the Skrill Conference South Division at today’s Football Conference awards.
Mr Richard Trodd the Basingstoke Town football secretary received the award on the clubs behalf at the award ceremony at the Celtic Manor Hotel.
The award was given at the league AGM today and is awarded to the club most seen to embrace the FA Respect Campaign and which conducts itself most in keeping with the Campaign both home and away.
The clubs Respect Director Lee Atkins said of the award “It’s fantastic for the club. It’s not an award for any individual or a group of people, it’s for the whole club. It recognises how as a club our players, management & club officials conduct themselves towards the opposition players & match officials, how our fans conduct themselves home and away as well as the efforts that the club make within their community. It’s a very large pat on the back for everybody associated with the club and should make us all immensely proud to be involved with Basingstoke Town. The clubs Charter Standard award has also been renewed from May 14th.
