We have the sad task of informing the wider Stoke fanbase that long-term Basingstoke Supporter Jim Gould passed away earlier this morning. Jim was a friend and true gent to many over the years, and was a tireless fundraiser for the club for many years. R.I.P Jim, you will be sadly missed.
Sad news this. He was always up for a natter in the Victor Meldrew Stand. He spent a short time on the Board when Rafi was Chair but it didn't last long.

Yes Jim was on the board, but decided to resign due to ill-health as you say after a short time on the board.

I can now confirm the funeral arrangements for Jim.
It will take place on Tuesday 15th August at St Peter & St Paul's church in Checkendon at 11am
Followed by the wake at The Black Horse in Checkendon (RG8 0TE)
If you are looking to attend, can you please confirm to me, so that they are aware of potential numbers, plus I can confirm numbers for catering purposes.
Colleen (Jim's wife), has asked fans to wear a BTFC shirt and bring a scarf with them if possible.

Yes due to ongoing ill-health, they sold their house in North Waltham, and moved to Checkendon (North of Reading), around 15 months ago, to be with family.
I visited him a couple of times and spoke to him on the phone once a week. Had been planning to go and see him soon, and will really miss him.

That is good of you Martin and can see you built up friendship with Jim. Thanks for explaining that he stood down from the Board due to ill-health. We have all the family staying on the day of the funeral so will not be able to attend.
