It has been confirmed in a much-needed move, that Manager Dan Brownlie strengthened his playing squad yesterday with the following two signings.
Firstly he added 21-year-old left footed defender/midfielder Massimo Giamattei, who has signed from Bracknell Town. Massimo like left-back Callum Winchcombe, was a Swindon Town youth player, before playing for other clubs such as Hanwell Town & Binfield.
Secondly on a 28 day-loan from Weymouth FC, another former Bracknell Town player Anthony Cheshire, has joined the club. Anthony, is a strong centre back with the capabilities to push up into the midfield, Cheshire has bolstered the ranks of Bobby Wilkinson’s side. After coming through the Swindon academy, Anthony has also played for Wantage, and Hanwell.
Both are likely to make their debuts this Saturday in the vital home game against bottom-placed Didcot Town.
Fair play to Dan - he is strengthening the areas that definitely needed it (including the Chippenham guy just announced, who I remember looked useful in the Trophy game). Back four, defensive and creative midfield. Let`s see what these guys can bring. Three points on Saturday would stop the rot and get some confidence back before what looks a very challenging run of games in January.
