I still feel that the cup tie in general is a bit sketchy and weather or not were going to have the separation is totally unclear
Going by the £7.50 price mark for coach I would be surprised if any less than 500 Telford fans turned up and I could even see a lot more than that turning up too
Overall attendance could be anything from I'd say 1300 fans to even 2000 fans easily

Sketchy is about right. I ask again
having sat on the safety advisory group (HCC, Hampshire police and Hampshire fire authority plus B&DBC) to the end of 2011 I know how the capacity was significantly reduced unless specific stewarding was put in place. Can the club give the up to date position with regard to this? Have the specific requirements been implemented and as a result increased the capacity?
It would be handy just to know what the current capacity is should the team progress to the next round.
if people are talking about a possible attendance of 2000 this exceeds the limit imposed on the ground in 2011 by a significant amount. Has the ground safety limit now been revised upwards from this?
Of course, I wasn't here for the glory years But, never mind, Nev'll Fix It!
As part of ongoing regular safety meetings, a requirement for all clubs at our level in Hampshire, we have agreed a spectator figure for next Saturday’s FA Cup tie against AFC Telford. There is no requirement for segregation and it is hoped up to 500 AFC Telford United fans will be coming to the game. The gates will open from 1.30pm. Furthermore, we have also looked at the next stage should we progress into the 2nd round. The club continues to maintain its excellent working relationship with the police and fire authorities through the Hampshire County Council led Safety Advisory Group.
I also heard on the stewarding part that AFC Telford apparently due to the lack of us having stewards because of the amount of people that could be at the game are being forced to bring their stewards down as well in case things get out of hand. If this is true then we need to seriously consider getting more matchday stewards in and I have already confirmed that I am interested in doing so.
I do hope then that if there is no segregation that there is no problems otherwise it will look a bit of a shambles because again in truth the tie itself has been sketchy and details of it was barely announced and far as I've seen I actually still have not seen any official update of our kick off time for Telford
We will have in excess of 30 stewards at the game Saturday and the club thanks Telford for their support. Your last post was a little off the mark but at least it stirred debate and the club thank you for your comments and look forward to seeing you Saturday. Get there early as it is going to be busy.
I am probably showing my age a bit but I think I have seen every Basingstoke Town FA Cup rounds proper over the years bar one. The one I missed was a 1-5 defeat(scorer Jenner Brown) to Northampton Town at the Camrose in 1971. I have the programme for the match which was provided by the club for the Torquay match.
Basingstoke Town have played very well in all the subsequent matches and shown to be good cup fighters.
In 1989/90 a 3-0 victory inspired by Paul Clarkson and Jamie Webb over Bromsgrove brought a 4,000 crowd for a match against Torquay United at the Camrose. An early goal from Barry Blankley gave hope but Torquay scored three times before Paul Clarkson scored in a 2-3 reverse.
The best run was in 1997/98 when Paul Coombs and Paul Wilkinson scored at Wycombe Wanderers to secure a 2-2 draw and force a replay at the Camrose. Paul Coombs scored twice in another 2-2 draw in front of around 5,000 before 'stoke won on penalties with Dean Beale saving the key penalty.
A 2nd Round at Northampton was the reward and an Alan Carey goal forced a 1-1 draw. The replay was played in temperatures of minus 10 in front of Sky Sports. A scoreless draw was followed by a penalty shoot out defeat. Steve Harris and Steve Richardson (Rico) were outstanding for Ernire Howe's team.
The next season saw Bournemouth come in the first round. Bournemouth won 2-1 with 'stoke scoring a good goal from Ian Mancey. The visitors winner was an unlucky own goal from Steve Harris.
The most recent cup run in 2005/06 saw a trip to Chesterfield a a Matt Warner goal securing a 1-0 win. The second round was a local derby at Aldershot. Joe Bruce had 'stoke ahead but the shots equalised near the end. The replay at the Camrose saw Neville Roach again give 'stoke the lead. However that was as good as it got and the shots came back to win 3-1.
Thank you for reminding me of that one Daryl, I completely forgot. I was at the game and thought again Basingstoke played really well. A free kick gave Brentford a 1-0 win. Even the Bees supporters thought 'stoke were unlucky.
Lot of chit-chat but what is the actual spectator capacity for the AFC Telford tie? Is there a likelihood that tickets will on sale in advance? A polite request, can the car wash facility be closed down for the day, at least after 1pm, also, it is alleged that their equipment trips the power thus rendering temporary loss of TV cover in the clubhouse, plus closing them down will provide more car parking slots.

Remember that year well KS, went to Wycombe away and had a bet on 2-2. Ten pounds at 33/1, BTFC nearly scored a 3rd with minutes remaining and I was mixed emotions of yes and no. Learnt a valuable lesson that day, don't bet on your own team. But £340 pounds on the Monday made up for it.
The replay I missed as I had an accountancy exam at 9am the next day.
Did both Northampton games as well and yes it was cold that day, however I found colder temperatures since, where at home one night it reached minus 28, even went to bed with clothes on.
