We throughly deserved to win and 3-0 was a fair reflection of our dominance. Looking forward to the draw on Monday but we've got to start producing our cup form in the league and get 3 points against Whitehawk on Tuesday.
Totally agree with Rob - it wasn't just the win, it was the manner of the win.
They didn't let Torquay play and they played superbly themselves - high intensity from the start and some great movement.
So many great performances - and all three goals were unstoppable.
A vicious downward header from Salmon off a good cross, great technique from Flood to keep the rising ball down with his left to score off the underside of the bar and then in the second half a crazy good first touch before beating the keeper at his near post.
But like Rob says, the same urgency is now needed on Tuesday - today was top of the table form, never mind survival, it needs to be replicated in league matches.

Only the second time I've been to the Camrose. We came to watch the Chelmsford Cup game and enjoyed it so much we came again today.
The league position is totally inexplicable. Both performances have shown great finishing, a hardworking midfield and a defence with the confidence to work the ball out when there's time, and to play for safety when there isn't. What happens when we're not looking I just can't imagine. We seem to be lucky for the boys. We'll be back for for the Dartford game, and the next round of the cup (unless it's somewhere like Carlisle...)
I thought Torquay looked jaded and easily disheartened. The first goal seemed to spook them badly. Basingstoke threw everything at it, working really hard, and deserved everything they got. When Torquay found themselves closed down they seemed to just give up.
