Hello there Maidstone fan here planning an away day for the match with you guys. Can you suggest any decent pubs on route from train station to ground cheers.
There are quite a few places in the town centre but not much between there and the ground. Turn left out of the station and you'll find the Queens Arms at the bottom of the slope - from there you can go through the middle of the blue and yellow buildings, over the bridge, through the bus station, up the covered slope and turn left there is a Wetherspoons (if you want a bite to eat the street kitchen you will see is brilliant). Follow signs for the top of town and you'll find another Wetherspoons and a few other places. There are two pubs in Winchester Road (the route to the ground) The Wheatsheaf and The King of Wessex and then that's it until our clubhouse (there is a pub called The Beacon in Kings Road which is a bit off the route but close to the ground)
For all National League and above grounds there is a great guide. This covers from what the ground is like to the pubs around the ground. www.footballgroundguide.com/ is the website I have used before. Well worth looking at for information. I have got a load of pictures on my website from yesterday's game. Some may not be as focused as I would like, but hopefully capture some of the better parts of the game The sole Gazette reporter should be covering the Cambridge game next Saturday, so he informed me.
